Introducing the 2025–2026 Sunflower State Exercises for Trombone (A Free Resource)

I am proud and excited to present my newest resource: 2025–2026 Sunflower State Exercises for Trombone!

The exercises included in this free resource are inspired by—and designed to aid in the practice and performance of—the All-State Audition music for Kansas for the 2025–2026 academic year. These exercises will help you cultivate the skills needed to prepare the official excerpts while also supporting your long-term development as a well-rounded trombonist.

What’s Included:

• Exercises for each of the 6 Official Excerpts

• Scale Studies

  • Two major scale studies for each possible key, addressing the required range requirements

  • One chromatic scale exercise

• Sight Reading Advice

The 2025–2026 Sunflower State Exercises for Trombone were created with one goal in mind: to make high-quality, targeted trombone materials accessible to all Kansas students. To support this mission, the resource is completely free.
